In Rochelle, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Illinois, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Peggy is the best! I came for her annual Spring sale to buy vegetable and herb plants for my garden. All her beautiful plants are organically grown with lots of love and care. Very reasonably priced! Been coming to her for the past few years for vegetable and herb plants and NEVER disappointed! Wide vegetable and herb selection available and also amazing variety of natives. The fact that she has internships for Kish students also showcases her love for what she does and giving back to the community. This is the place to go for quality and plants grown with all the tender loving care for your space. Thank you, Peggy and to all your workers for all that you do! Many thumbs up! 👍🏼

Went to annual plant sale that is open to the public. We chose from so many varieties of peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, pumpkins and zucchini. They had several native grasses, flowers and trees. We also bought some worm castings and at Headons on the go, which was incredibly delicious.

Plants are great, very healthy and huge selection. Owners and staff are exceptionally kind and go out of their way to help! Our truck broke down in their driveway, Bryan and Bob and Jesus worked very hard to help us get the vehicle up on a trailer. Ruth and Peggy made us tea and also made us feel at home while we waited for help. We had an exceptional experience!!!!
